RECRUITMENT NOTICE 

Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are permanent resident of Assam, for the following posts on contract basis under the World Bank Finance APART Project, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Assam. 1. Veterinary Officer 

Total no of posts: 3

Essential qualifications: Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH). The candidates must be registered under Assam Veterinary Council .

Age Limit: Candidate should not be more than 45 years as on 31st March, 2023 

Expected works to be performed: 

• Collection, evaluation and processing of boar semen for AI using chilled semen 
• Obtaining required certification for the lab 
• Quality control 
• Awareness creation among the farmers for AI.  

2. Laboratory Assistant 

Total no of posts: 3

Essential qualifications: HSSLC (Science) passed with Biology as a Subject 

Desirable qualifications: 

- Experience in laboratory activities 

- Basic computer knowledge 

Age Limit: Candidate should not be more than 45 years as on 31st March, 2023  

Expected works to be performed: 

• Handling of pigs 
• Collection of semen from male pigs, sterilization of laboratory equipments 
• Vigorous travel in the rural areas 
• Preparation and handling of essential chemicals and machineries in the laboratory 
• Data entry in the registers and computer 
• Record keeping etc.

3. Office Attendant 

Total no of posts: 3

# Baghchung (Jorhat)

# Demow (Sivasagar) 

Essential qualifications: Class IX passed from Government recognized school 

Age Limit: Candidate should not be more than 45 years as on 31st March, 2023 

Expected works to be performed: 

• Day to day feeding, handling of pigs 
• Cleaning of pig farm 
• Assisting in collection of semen from male pigs on routine basis 
• Assisting chemical preparation 
• Cleaning and sterilization of utensils in the laboratory .

3. The requirement will be purely contractual and time bound, non-regular and also not against any sanctioned vacancy/cadre strength/post/position; the service provisions for regular posts including reservations will not be applicable to these engagements. 

4. The selection will be on co-terminus basis, initially for a period of 11 months up to the availability of funds under the project or up to the performance of the candidate found satisfactory, whichever is earlier. The period of engagement may be extended further based on the tenure of the project/availability of funds/ performance of the candidate. 

5. The candidate must bring his/her all original testimonial documents at the time of interview, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview. 

6. No TA/DA etc. will be paid for attending the interview. 

7. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature. Decision of the Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department will be final.
