The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for the recruitment of candidates to various civil service positions in the state of Assam. The APSC CCE exam is conducted in three stages: Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview.
The APSC CCE Main exam is conducted for candidates who qualify in the Preliminary exam. The Main exam consists of two papers, each carrying a total of 250 marks. The duration of each paper is 3 hours. The papers are:
- General Studies Paper-I
- General Studies Paper-II
The General Studies Paper-I covers topics such as Indian History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science, and Technology, while General Studies Paper-II covers topics such as Assam History, Culture, Literature, and Geography.
The APSC CCE Main exam is followed by a personal interview, which carries a total of 150 marks. The final selection of candidates is based on the marks obtained in the Main exam and the Interview.
