Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has successfully completed the Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary) 2022 on 26th March 2023. The examination was conducted at 31 district headquarters of the Assam in two shifts for both the papers I & II. A total of 74,368 candidates were allowed by the commission to appeared in the preliminary examination for 913 posts.

APSC CCE Exam Selection Process:

The selection process for the APSC CCE (Assam Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination) consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination is a screening test that consists of two papers, each containing 200 multiple-choice questions. The duration of each paper is two hours. The preliminary examination is conducted to shortlist candidates for the main examination.

2. Main Examination: Candidates who clear the preliminary examination are eligible to appear for the main examination. The main examination consists of six papers, each of which is essay type. The papers cover topics like General Studies, Language, and Optional Subjects. The main examination is conducted to select candidates for the interview.

3. Interview: Candidates who clear the main examination are eligible to appear for the interview. The interview is conducted to assess the candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for the post. The interview carries a weightage of 200 marks.

The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the main examination and interview. The preliminary examination is only a qualifying examination and the marks obtained in it are not considered for the final selection. The weightage of marks for the main examination and interview is 1400 and 200, respectively.

Candidates who qualify for the APSC CCE are offered various posts in the Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service, and other allied services, based on their merit and preferences.
